Signs You Have a Poorly Performing Extractions Fan System

If your air duct system is performing poorly in your home or commercial property, it is common to experience one or more of the following symptoms.

Utility Bills Going up or no Change in the Temperature

If your energy bills are increasing for no good reason, it is a sign that your heating system is not functioning properly. Within an air duct based system, if it is not cleaned properly or effectively, dirt and dust will build up throughout the ducting, obstructing the hot air, making the system have to work harder in order to heat rooms.

Of course, this may not be the only issue with an HVAC system. If there is little change to the temperature in rooms, whether you are expecting a room to be heated or cooled, it is likely that your ducts are leaking air somewhere. This will make some rooms cooler or hotter than others.

Poor Air Quality

If an air duct system is leaking in one or more areas, it is unlikely to be able to perform one of its key roles, which is to regulate the recycling and cleaning of air. If a room is feeling unpleasant or stuffy, this is a good indication that there is a leak. Similarly, there could well be a noticeable increase in dust within the room.

If the poor air quality isn’t noticeable by other means, another indication that the air is not being cleaned quite as effectively as it could be is the emergence of allergies or infections within your team. Trapped dirt, dust or mould within your HVAC system can be responsible for this.

If you have noticed any of these issues in your buildings, the specialist team at UK Commercial Group provides an extraction fan repair & maintenance service, which can help you get your HVAC systems running at full efficiency again.
